The SaaS provider’s new CEO Dave Zabrowski will take over for the company’s founder George Teixeira, who will transition to the role of executive chairman. Additionally, DataCore has appointed CMO Gerardo A. Dada. Both executives come to the software sales firm with decades of experience in the cloud-based software space.

Zabrowski most recently served at the helm of Cloud Cruiser, a cost management and cloud spending management platform for AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform. He sold Cloud Cruiser, which he founded in 2010, seven years later to HPE. The executive has held various other leadership positions including CEO of network virtualization pioneer Neterion, where he oversaw a $2.5 billion business unit of enterprise servers, storage and PCs.

Before joining DataCore, Dada was vice president of product and marketing and strategy at SolarWinds. The experienced technology marketer has also held positions at companies including Rackspace, Bazaarvoice, Motorola and Microsoft.

Thirty-year-old DataCore has raised $95 million in three rounds of funding since 2000, and has expanded its team to 250 employees. Backers include Insight Venture Partners, Vista Equity Partners and Van Wagoner Capital Management, according to Crunchbase.

DataCore’s products seek to bridge the gap between enterprises’ need to achieve real-time business and the requirement to maximize investments by leveraging current and future IT assets across all major vendors. Its patented technology is intended to overcome I/O bottlenecks and inefficiencies, while delivering maximum performance, uptime and resource optimization in a simple and cost-effective means.

“As the pioneer in software-defined storage technology, DataCore has built a reputation for technology innovation and rock-solid products,” stated Jeff Horing, co-founder and managing director at Insight Venture Partners. “We’re excited to see how the new team will build on DataCore’s leadership position and drive accelerated growth for the business.”
