For iCIMS’ Founder, Success is Built on Relentless Innovation

Nineteen years ago, Colin Day went to his employer to help fund his vision for a standalone software company to enable companies to attract, engage and hire the best talent. Fast forward to today and iCIMS supports more than 4,000 companies that hire four million people annually with its leading best-of-breed recruitment platform. And this year, iCIMS celebrated its 12th time on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing companies – an accomplishment only 29 American companies can claim to date.

Colin has lead the company’s rapid and responsible growth, doubling in size within the last three years alone, by relentlessly focus on innovating through every facet of its business.

A Kaizen Culture. To drive constant innovation, everyone at iCIMS is encouraged to poke holes, ask questions, suggest new ideas at any time to continually improve the business. For instance, a member of iCIMS Labs – the company’s product development team – approached his boss following one of their in-house hackathon sessions about automating employers’ job offer process, the mostly manual process to create, approve, extend and track personalized job offers. The hack resulted in iCIMS’ latest product launch, OFFER, the industry’s first end-to-end job offer solution launched earlier this year. Within a couple of weeks after launch, Offer was recognized as one of 2018’s ‘awesome new technologies’ at HR Tech, the industry’s largest conference.

From Product to Platform. Over the last decade, Colin has expanded iCIMS from being a leading cloud-based applicant tracking provider to also enabling companies to scale their entire hiring process on its platform-as-a-service (PaaS) framework. Today, iCIMS’ PaaS framework brings together more than 230 third-party software providers so employers can significantly expand their core talent acquisition technology to attract, find, screen, and manage candidates.

Singular Focus. While innovation is constant, the foundation in which Colin founded iCIMS has never changed. iCIMS exists to enable its clients to deliver a great candidate experience through its software, so they can hire the very best talent. iCIMS exemplifies its own mission with its own employees, and was recently ranked No. 1 among North American companies, surpassing the likes of Johnson & Johnson, American Airlines and S&P Global, for delivering an outstanding candidate experience by Talent Board based on assessments by more than 130,000 candidates.
