Mainsail Partners, a growth equity firm that targets fast-growing bootstrapped software companies, has recently announced key promotions and new hires.
The San Francisco-Calif.-based firm has promoted Vinay Kashyap to Partner. Kashyap has worked with the firm for five years and has been an integral player in executing and managing various investments. Prior to Mainsail, he worked at Summit Partners, where he sourced, executed and supported over $200 million of growth equity investments across North America, Europe and Asia. At Summit, Vinay was primarily focused on technology, healthcare and business services investments and was a founding member of the firm’s India Office. Before Summit, he served as a consultant with Deloitte’s Strategy and Operations team in Boston and New York. Kashyap earned his A.B. in Economics from Bowdoin College and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
The firm has also promoted Emily Azevedo and Heather Booms to vice president and Matt Buckley to director. Azevedo, who focuses on the firm’s talent and recruiting for Mainsail and its portfolio companies, joined the team in 2016 from Heidrick & Struggles. Booms, who joined Mainsail in 2015 from BDO USA, is responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting of Mainsail’s investment funds and management company. She also works with the growth equity firm’s portfolio company finance teams on their reporting and finance operations. Buckley will continue to help the firm’s portfolio companies develop go-to-market strategies, with a focus on data analytics marketing technologies and strategies to help scale.
In addition to internal promotions, the Silicon Valley firm hired Anthony Hayes and Teddy Gold as Investment Associates who will be responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities.
