TrueCommerce Acquires Inventory Management Software Company Datalliance

Private equity-backed electronic data interchange (EDI) solutions company TrueCommerce Inc. has agreed to purchase cloud-based technology provider Datalliance. Trading partner platform TrueCommerce is backed by Accel-KKR, a technology-focused private equity firm with offices in Menlo Park, Calif. and Atlanta.

Cincinnati, OH-based Datalliance offers SaaS vendor managed inventory (VMI) technology to suppliers and their customers, including distributors, retailers, OEMs and product-end users across a range of industry verticals. The 26-year-old industry leader, founded as Enterprise Data Management Inc., provides a special pricing reconciliation and a third-party service which enables customers to streamline the process of managing complex pricing agreements between suppliers and distributors.

Through the deal, Pittsburgh, PA-based True Commerce, a global provider of trading partner connectivity and integrated solutions, seeks to complement its portfolio by extending its commerce network into the collaborative replenishment, inventory management and demand forecasting markets.

Mike Cornell, TrueCommerce CEO, sees the acquisition of a pioneer in the VMI space as enhancing the company’s competitive position, as well as an opportunity to build on its larger global growth strategy founded on increasing the breadth and depth of the services offered on its commerce network community. Datalliance’s offerings have been implemented by hundreds of customers across multiple industries, geographies and business sizes, as the platform manages billions of dollars in orders, millions of SKUs and tens of thousands of locations worldwide.

The acquisition of Datalliance follows TrueCommerce’s recent deal to sell sister company HighJump Software to Korber AG. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
