Viviana Faga Joins Emergence Capital as an Operating Partner

San Mateo, Calif.-based Emergence Capital has announced the appointment of Viviana Faga as its newest Operating Partner. After searching for nearly one year for an addition to its team, the leading SaaS investor says it chose “Viv” due to her “SaaS industry go-to-market experience and her track record of scaling growth for leading enterprise and cloud brands.”

Faga comes to Emergence Capital with 15 years of industry experience at some of the tech field’s most influential companies including Salesforce.com, Yammer/Microsoft, and Platfora/Workday. The industry expert has held various leadership positions including VP of Marketing at Yammer, a freemium enterprise social networking service, where she was in charge of carving out the enterprise social category. After Microsoft’s $1.2 billion take over of the company in 2012, she transitioned to Head of Enterprise Social Marketing at the tech giant, which included Office 365, Skype and Lync. Viv later served as VP of Marketing at big data analytics platform Platfora, (later bought by Workday), and the CMO of HR software leader Zenefits. Previously, Faga spent six years at CRM pioneer Salesforce, where she spearheaded the launch of key product initiatives including Service Cloud and Chatter.

Viviana earned a BS in Operations Management Information Systems from Santa Clara University.

In her new role, Viviana is responsible for overseeing Emergence’s marketing and talent efforts, while playing a hands on role in driving growth at the firm’s portfolio companies through advising on branding, operations, talent recruiting, etc. She will also play a role in evaluating startups as potential investments.

Founded in 2003, Emergence Capital specializes in earlier stage Series A and Series B companies in the Technology-Enables Services (TES) sector, primarily those located in the U.S. Notable investments include Box, Veeva Systems, Salesforce, ServiceMax, Intaact, SuccessFactors, Yammer and Zoom Video Communications.
